About Us
Narrow Bridge Farm Works exists to strengthen rural communities through practical stewardship, thoughtful restoration, and lasting craftsmanship. Based in the mountains of Western North Carolina, we work alongside farms, landowners, and local organizations to restore historic places, improve working landscapes, and build projects that serve both people and the land.
Driven by passion
Founded by Chris Matthews, Narrow Bridge Farm Works grew from years of hands-on work in trout farming, landscaping, construction, timber framing, restoration, and small-farm development. Every project is approached with the same belief: if something is worth building, it's worth building well.
Our Guiding
Principles
Stewardship before convenience.
Restore whenever possible.
Build for generations, not seasons.
Respect the history of a place.
Leave every project stronger than you found it.
Good Work, Real Impact.
Our work includes historic restoration, timber framing, farm infrastructure, trout production, land stewardship, consulting, and collaborative community projects. Every opportunity is different, but our approach remains the same: practical solutions built with care and intended to last.
Looking Forward
As new partnerships and opportunities emerge, our goal remains unchanged—to help strengthen rural communities through meaningful work that leaves the land, the people, and the next generation better than we found them.
